Adventures + The Canteen
Since we started Pursuit Adventures in 2010 our goal has been to inspire you to play outside and help you experience your adventure so that you can discover the culture, people and natural beauty of the region.
We’ve always focused on the whole experience our guests share when they explore the region. That’s why we’ve evolved over the years to offer a collection of services, from guided tours to gear rentals and food services that work together to create memorable experiences in the Nordegg & Abraham Lake region.
FOOD IS PART OF ALL GREAT ADVENTURES
It keeps us fueled on the trail, helps us slow down to enjoy the moment over lunch, and gives us an excuse to get together and share the memories we’ve made along the way.
Since 2015 we’ve been making all of the snacks and lunches in-house for our tours at Pursuit Adventures. Our ice pops started as a refreshing treat after a day on the trail before becoming a regular feature at markets throughout Central Alberta. This past summer we embarked on a new adventure, setting up our little canteen in Nordegg and expanding beyond the food we serve on our adventures.
Bringing it All Together
The Canteen continues to evolve, from the food truck and ice cream shack of last summer to a slightly larger kitchen inside what used to be the hair salon next door. That expansion allowed us to operate year-round and add a few tasty treats like our donuts to the menu.
We’re now working on making the licensed yard a gathering place for guests exploring the region and setting up the adventure room with gear for rent and sale as well as a central booking location for tours and activities. In short, we’re bringing together all the elements of our adventures into one physical location right in Nordegg.

Our goal is to inspire you to play outside and help you experience your adventure so that you can discover the culture, people and natural beauty of the region.
We believe that adventure is about doing things that are new and different for each of us, doing things that can be a little scary but that also makes us curious to explore further.
How We Do It
These guiding principles apply to everything we do, whether you’re joining us for a guided tour or a snack at the Canteen.
Get lost in the moment: Fun, shared experiences combined with breathtaking landscapes and amazing people create moments that naturally immerse us, making it easy to forget about daily life.
Simple is better: Life isn’t that complicated. Celebrate the simple pleasures, the raw beauty of nature and the connections with people you meet along the way.
Embrace the unexpected: Going on an adventure off the beaten path means that things are less structured. The best moments happen when you leave the checklist behind to create your own path.
Do the right thing: Caring for the environment and each other is not a trend, it’s part of living. Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures. Collect memories, not things.
Focus on the long term: Build relationships and memories that last. Taking the time to enjoy the journey will transform you.
